Firmware install instructions
To upgrade your SC1000 firmware:
- Download THIS FILE, and unzip it to the root of a USB stick.
- Put the usb stick in your SC1000 and turn it on, making sure it's plugged into speakers and/or headphones
- After 20 seconds or so, you should hear a message explaining that your SC1000 has been updated.
- Turn your SC1000 off and on again
You should now be running the latest version of both the operating system and the software.
How to check what version you are running
- Turn your SC1000 off
- Turn your beats volume up, samples volume down
- Press and hold ANY track select button on the back of the SC (doesn't matter which)
- Turn your SC1000 back on, keeping the button held
- You will eventually hear a message telling you your operating system version.
Turn the beats volume down and your samples volume up to hear the software version.
MIDI stuff
You can now connect USB MIDI devices to the SC1000. You'll need a USB hub to be able to connect both your USB stick and USB MIDI device at the same time.
You should be able to use any class-compliant MIDI device.
The default MIDI mapping is :
- Channels 1 & 2
- Notes - Cue points for beats (CH1) and samples (CH2). There are 128 cue points, one for each MIDI note.
- Pitch Bend - Pitch bend for beats and samples respectively
- Channels 3 & 4
- Notes - musical pitch shifting (like a Controller One/PDX3000). Middle C (Note 60) is 0% pitch.
- Channel 5
- Note numbers 0 (C-1) & 1 (C#-1) - Start/stop for beats (0) and samples (1)
- Note number 127 (G9) - Shift button (to delete cue points)
